Innohype Partners · CBAM for Vietnamese exporters
CBAM is now in its definitive phase. Your EU buyer pays for the carbon in your steel, aluminium, cement or fertiliser, and needs your emissions data to calculate that cost. We prepare that data for you: AI does the heavy lifting, our engineers check every number, and you keep the file.
Six steps stand between your factory records and a figure your EU buyer can use. We work through each one with you.
Match each export line to its CN code and confirm which products, tonnes and EU buyers are in scope.
Define the boundaries: which processes, furnaces and lines make each product, and which inputs come from suppliers.
Fuel and electricity bills, meter readings, production logs and purchase records, in whatever form they exist today, paper included.
Direct emissions plus the emissions embedded in precursors such as wire rod or billet, using the EU method, with every assumption written down.
The EU communication template, or your buyer's own portal, completed once and accurately, with a cost scenario for 2026–2034 in VND.
A monitoring plan and evidence trail an accredited verifier can follow, then a yearly refresh as rules and production change.
Importer-side platforms
They ask your plant for data. They do not go into your plant to produce it.

Vietnamese language, Vietnamese records, EU method. AI-checked, human-signed.
Most CBAM software assumes the supplier already has clean, structured data. In many Vietnamese plants the data lives in paper logs, monthly electricity bills and the memory of a senior engineer. Records are in Vietnamese and are organised by accounting period, not by EU production process. Purchased steel, billet or aluminium comes from suppliers who have never been asked for carbon data.
When the data is late or unclear, the buyer falls back on EU default values. These are set conservatively and carry a mark-up that rises over the coming years. Every tonne reported using default values costs your buyer more, and sooner or later that cost shows up in your price.
Put them to us, and to any other provider you are considering.
Boundaries and evidence are found on the shop floor, not in a form.
If not, your team does the data work and pays for the software too.
Purchased steel, billet or aluminium is often the largest share of the total, and the most common source of error.
Generic international factors can overstate your emissions. Ask which Vietnamese sources are used and how.
A number without a documented method is unlikely to survive verification.
AI is fast. Ask who reviews its output, and whether that review is recorded.
Ask which AI tools are used, where data is stored, and whether client names reach the AI.
Your adviser should not verify its own work or take commissions from verifiers.
You should see the numbers before the sales pitch.
Your data, your method and your report should be yours to forward to any buyer or verifier.

The importer pays, but it needs your emissions data. Without it, the importer must use EU default values, which are usually higher than a well-run plant's real emissions. The extra cost comes back to you in price talks, or the buyer moves to a supplier with better data.
Importers file their first annual CBAM declaration in 2027 for goods imported in 2026, so requests to suppliers are arriving now. Plants that answer first, with good data, are in a stronger position.
Iron and steel (including many downstream steel products such as screws, bolts, wire and structures), aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity, identified by their CN code. The free check tells you which of yours are in scope.
No. Only an accredited CBAM verifier can verify. We prepare the data, the method and the evidence so that verification goes smoothly, and we help you brief the verifier. We take no fees from verifiers.
Yes, but only tools approved for confidential data. Client names are replaced by codes before any AI step, no personal data is sent, and an engineer checks every number the AI produces. We sign a mutual NDA before you share any data.
Often, yes. Sustainability-linked loans and green trade finance link the interest rate to targets such as emissions per tonne. The data you build for CBAM can become those targets. Ask us during your free check which route may fit your project.
